TU VECINA CELESTINA
A game that mixes 2D characters with 3D environments where the player is a matchmaker and in which different endings occur depending on the couples made.
This game was made for the Cultura Abierta Game Jam 2019.

GAME DESIGN
I was one of the two designers of the project. We decided to base the game on a classic book called Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea, also known as La Celestina, character whom we picked to star in our game.
Since Celestina is the archetype of a matchmaker, we decided that the goal of the game would be to pair different characters, both historical and fictional, from Spanish Culture.
We created a map divided in three areas, but the player only has access to one at first and then they unlock the rest one at a time after pairing up a certain number of characters.
CHOICES
They are the core of the game. The player has the chance of asking each character three cuestions in order to guess their ideal couple, although no restrictions are made in that aspect, allowing the player to pair up any character.
Different endings will display depending on the couple made as follows:
Each ideal couple has a unique ending.
Special endings will play when certain couples pair up, even if they are not the ideal ones.
For the rest of the cases, different, more generic endings will play.
The final ending system grants certain number of points depending on the couples made, where an ideal one gives the max amount and the rest, an inferior number. Three different endings were made for Celestina based on the number of points obtained.
